What lichen looks like on a Gordon roof
The Gordon photos on this page were taken during a gutter clean. The pale, crusty growth on the terracotta is lichen, with weathering on the tiles underneath.
Lichen grips the surface of the tile, so a quick blast won't shift it properly. A roof clean treats it first to kill it off, then cleans the dead growth away.

Roof cleaning or restoration in Gordon
Roof cleaning
We treat the roof first to kill lichen, moss and mould, then clean the dead growth and built-up dirt away. Pressure is matched to the roof material, so tiles and sheeting come up clean without being chewed up.
Roof restoration
Restoration goes further than a clean: a deep clean and surface preparation, minor repairs and surface restoration where the roof needs them, protective treatment or sealing where it suits the roof, and a check of the gutters and drainage.

Common questions
What is the grey-green crust on my roof?
Usually lichen. It holds moisture against the tile and keeps spreading if it's left. The Gordon photos on this page show it on terracotta.
Why not just pressure wash it off?
Lichen holds on tight. Treating it first kills it off, so the clean that follows needs less force and takes the growth away properly. Pressure is matched to the roof material.
How quickly can I get a quote?
We aim to have your free quote back within 48 hours. Call 1300 511 921, or send the form below with the address and a short description of the roof.
What's the difference between roof cleaning and roof restoration?
Roof cleaning treats and removes lichen, moss, mould and dirt. Restoration goes further: a deep clean and surface preparation, minor repairs and surface restoration where needed, protective treatment or sealing where it suits the roof, and a check of the gutters and drainage. Your quote says which one we recommend and why.
Are you insured?
Yes. Dr Pressure is fully insured, and the crew on your roof is qualified and certified to work at heights.
